Macedonia introduces additional subsidies over increased pork imports from Serbia

He stressed that additional subsidies from the state for pig farmers were proposed in order to preserve that sector of agriculture in Macedonia.
- In the period between October and May, when the demand for pork is on a decline, we will provide additional subsidies. If a pig weighs more than 120 kilograms, the farmer will obtain additional MKD 1,000 (EUR 16.2) - said the Macedonian minister of agriculture.
Cvetkov explained that subsidies would also be granted for keeping pork in cold storage plants, that is, all expenses of such storage would be covered by the state.
