Privatization of spas and special hospitals in Serbia will start again mid this year and the minister of trade, Zeljko Sertic, is expecting they will be sold by the end of 2016.

When the Agency for Privatization released a public call for privatziation of 14 spas and special hospitals, businessmen Miodrag Kostic, Petar Matijevic, Filip Zepter as well as companies from Russia, Germany, China and Cyprus became interested in the acquisition.

However, no one succeeded in buying a single spa since at that time in 2015 their privatization was halted first of all due to court disputes with respect to ownership which the government has been having with the Pension Insurance Fund.

In his statement for Tanjug, Sertic said that, due to specific situation, this month he has also had meetings with privatization advisor and representatives of the Agency for Privatization which will work on it until it shuts down February 1.
