River goods transport to Russia - a salvation for Serbian exporters?

The Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce will start initiative to question Serbian companies, potential exporters to the Russian Federation with the question what implementation of river transport via the Danube to the Black sea would mean for them, the institution published at its website.

At the meeting of the Group of producers and traders in meat and meat products of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, it was estimated that river road would significantly cut the time of transport of Serbian products which are now more difficult due to sanctions of EU to the Russian Federation.

He added this market research will be implemented through chamber system and that it will comprise all economic branches and groups so that all domestic companies which export or potential importers to Russia would be provided with support.

He particularly outlined that options for Serbian agriculture and food industry having in mind that Russia annually imports these products for over USD 40 billion.
