In the latest Resolution on Serbia’s progress, foreign policy board of the European Parliament again invited Serbian Government to adopt changes to the Law on restitution and to enable return of taken property in kind to owners.

The Restitution network says they expect changes of the Law are adopted before the dismissal of the Assembly and they welcome at the same time the initiative of the Government of Serbia to adopt the law it will indemnify holocaust victims.

Public discussion about the new Law on restitution ended more than half a year ago. Its delay to the assembly is explained by coordinator of the Restitution network, Mile Antic, explains it and says it is privilege of an individual at all levels of authorities which used property free of charge so process delay suits them.

Law changes will affect 320.000 citizens included in restitution.
