The world No. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic won the sixth Australian Open title in his career after beating Britain's Andy Murray 6:1, 7:5, 7:6 (7:3) in the final on Sunday (31 January 2016).
With six titles from Melbourne, Djokovic equals Roy Emerson's score, while the 11th Grand Slam title secured him a spot shoulder-to-shoulder with Rod Laver and Bjorn Borg on the all-time list.
The match lasted for 2 hours and 53 minutes, and Djokovic now has 22 wins in 31 duels against the Briton, four in Melbourne's finals.
For winning the sixth title in Australia, Djokovic will also obtain a cash prize of EUR 2.5 million.
