Germany's Continental will obtain more than 25,000 square meters of land in Mali Bajmok Industrial Zone in Subotica to build a new factory on it. The City Council of Subotica has made a decision to assign building land in Mali Bajmok to ContiTech Fluid Serbia free of charge.
According to this decision, which is forwarded to the City Assembly for adoption, the Serbian government gave prior consent for this action on January 23rd for the purpose of construction of industrial facility for the production of components for the automotive industry.
According to a Memorandum of Understanding that was signed last year, ContiTech is going to invest EUR 17 million and hire additional 500 workers in the new 12,000 square meter factory by the end of 2018.
As previously announced by this company, construction is expected to kick off this spring and end by the year's end. With the new investment, the number of employees at this German company will be doubled.
This investor operates in Subotica since 2011 and currently employs about 600 workers in the existing factory for the production of components for the automotive and truck industries in Mali Bajmok Industrial Zone.
