Company "Koronospan" bought 55 ha of land in Lapovo for construction of factory

- Austrian company "Kronospan", which deals with design of panel material, purchased 55 ha of land in Municipality of Lapovo for 300 EUR per are. The intention of this company is to have construction of factory for production of univer, mediapan, plywood and panel boards started in February 2008 - said the mayor of that municipality, DraganZlatković.

- Nearly one half of total production of the factory, in which 300m USD will be invested, is intended for export - said Zlatković.

He explained that the factory would first employ 300 workers. Later, when production expands, that number will be increased to 1,000.

Construction of the factory of panel materials in Lapovo represents, currently, the largest direct investment in central Serbia. Company "Kronospan" decided to have the factory built here because that location in the vicinity of "Corridor 10" and it represents one of the largest railway crossroads in Serbia.
