EBRD: Serbia on the right path of economic reforms
As it was announced by the Serbian government, Mr. Bennett pointed to the EBRD's dedication to the development of cooperation with Serbia in several different sectors.
The prime minister of Serbia said that the EBRD had an important role in the ongoing process of reforms and the development of Serbia's economy.
Vucic noted that one of the most important strategic projects of Serbia was the restructuring and revitalization of Mining Smelter Basin (RTB) Bor and asked for support from the EBRD in that process. Among the topics of their conversation was also cooperation between Serbia and the EBRD in the search for strategic partners for Telekom Srbija, debt restructuring in Srbijagas, as well as assistance in completing the process of restructuring in Serbian Railways and the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS).
It was confirmed that the EBRD was interested in investing in renewable energy sources in Serbia, such as wind farms.
Vucic and Bennett also talked about a joint program of the Serbian government and the EBRD for support to small and medium-sized enterprises and the development of entrepreneurship through exceptionally favorable credit lines that would be extended through banks in Serbia.
