Imlek gets green light for takeover of Niska mlekara
The Commission for competition protection announced it hs approved to Imlek from Padinska Skela purchase of 100% share at Niska mlekara
As stated, after completion of the test process, March 1, 2016, the Commission
for competition protection approved the concentration in line with the Law on
competition protection.
In late October 2015, Padinska Skela-based Industry of milk and dairy products Imlek signed Contract on acquisition of Niska mlekara which is one of the biggest in south Serbia and the approval of the Commission for competition protection was essential for that concentration.
As Imlek previously announced, the company is planning to boost production at
Niska mlekara and develop its most famous brand Vedro.
Imlek operates in Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and
Croatia, and purchase milk from 3,800 manufacturers. It is part of Moji
brendovi group which comprises Bambi and Knjaz Milos, owned by Mid Europa
Partners investment fund.
Niska mlekara is among five biggest ones in Serbia, and it procures milk from
about 20,000 rural households.
