Aside from equalizing local and foreign investors, the new Investment Law calls for another significant change. Namely, it stipulates the formation of the Council for Economic Development that will be deciding on all investments in Serbia. The Council will be made up of economy, finance and labor ministers, the president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) and the director of the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS). These people are now responsible for all investment projects in our country.
According to Milos Petrovic, the acting director of the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), these are the most important novelties in one of the laws that have been in the spotlight of Serbia's economy sector in the previous period. Attending a meeting of the Slovenian Business Club on 30 March 2016 as a guest, he also spoke about the competences of the newly established Development Agency of Serbia that assumed some of the powers of former SIEPA and the National Agency for Regional Development (NARR). These two agencies are closed, while RAS continued to manage and implement all investment projects.
When it comes to the relations between Serbia and Slovenia, the acting director of the Development Agency of Serbia underlined that the two economies had a very good relationship that had grown into a sincere friendship between neighbors with the development of market economy and Europe without borders.

- Slovenia is the first-class trade partner of Serbia, and the best thing about every friendship is constant growth and improvement of relations. Slovenia, with over 400 active investment projects and more than 1,600 companies that operate in Serbia and employ 25,000 workers, is among the top ten investors in our country - Petrovic stressed and added that Serbia's exports to Slovenia had more than quadrupled over the past decade.

The meeting of the Slovenian Business Club was also attended by Aleksandar Vlahovic, the president of the Association of Economists of Serbia, who spoke about the recent Kopaonik Business Forum.
