Belgrade to host 2020 European University Games - Arrival of 5,000 athletes expected

At the General Assembly of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), Belgrade beat favored Tampere, Finland after a long fight, lobbying and presentations and, thus, got to host the European University Games in 2020.
Belgrade was entrusted with the organization of the 2020 European Universiade after a secret voting that was ceremoniously held in Wroclaw, Poland.
The organizer of the Universiade will be the University Sports Association of Serbia in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Sports Association of Serbia, and the Olympic Association of Serbia.
The European University Games are expected to attract over 5,000 athletes.
