The first phase will see the construction of the ground floor of this facility on a surface area of 3,800 square meters to create conditions to assemble two swimming pools from the Belgrade Arena (dimensions: 34x25m and 33x21m), as well as to build a swimming pool for non-swimmers (25x12.5m) and carry out infrastructure works on hydrotechnical and electrical installations.
The deadline to finish all the work is mid-June 2016, when aforementioned swimming pools are planned to be assembled by the Myrtha Pools company from Italy. Swimming pools will be in operation during the summer season, while a call for the second phase of this about EUR 3.5 million worth of investment, that is, construction of annexes, ancillary amenities, stands and roof, should be issued this autumn.
Once completed, the facility will have a surface area of 12,000 square meters, and the 33x21m swimming pool will be situated in the open-air section of the National Water Polo Center.
In this way, Vrnjacka Banja is becoming the home of golden water polo players.
The National Water Polo Training Center is a joint project of the Serbian government, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Vrnjacka Banja municipality.
