The Federal Republic of Germany has confirmed that Serbia will be given EUR 5 million for technical cooperation projects of the two countries, said the officials of the German Embassy in Belgrade.

Of this amount, a million euro will be used for public administration reform, a million for the improvement of entrepreneurship in underdeveloped areas, and three million euro for the development of sustainable bioenergy market in Serbia.

As it was announced, Economic Cooperation Secretary Jurgen Schmid handed over a confirmation of a EUR 5 million grant from Germany to Ana Ilic, the deputy director of the Serbian European Integration Office (SEIO), on April 27th.

Speaking about cooperation, Schmid and Ilic pointed to the spirit of trust and the intensity of that cooperation from 2000 onwards.
Ilic said that Germany with about EUR 1.6 billion funds invested so far was the largest individual donor to Serbia, while Schmid confirmed that that country would resume cooperation with Serbia in the future as well.
