(Novak Djokovic) The world's best tennis player Novak Djokovic has become the first tennis player in the history of the sport to earn USD 100 mil in tournaments. Djokovic had earned USD 99,673,404 prior to the tournament in France, and by placing into the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam tournaments 28 times in a row, he collected an additional USD 328,251.

So far he has earned USD 100,001,655, which places him ahead of Swiss player Roger Federer, who has earned USD 98,011,727. Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal is in the third place with USD 78,007,139.

Djokovic has a chance of further increasing his earnings before the Paris tournament ends, as the winner gets USD 2.2 mil.

He stated at the press conference following his victory against Spanish player Roberto Bautista Agut that he didn't want to discuss money.

- It means nothing to me that I'm the first one to earn USD 100 mil playing tennis, as that is merely a consequence of being successful at what I love to do. It would be poor form to discuss such large amounts of money when the average salary in Serbia is only 200 or 300 euros. The media focus too much on it – said Djokovic.
