Trade between Serbia and China increases by 2.9% in the first quarter of 2016
The most significant growth was seen in the export of rubber sealing products (USD 0.44 million), which means an increase of over 1,000%. The biggest growth in importing was seen in phones (from USD 47.6 million to USD 53.3 million).
Last year, the value of the trade between the two countries was around USD 1.56 billion, and the Chinese exporting is still significantly larger than that of local companies. Economic pundits claim that Serbia has the chance to increase the export to that country in agriculture above all, since, as they state, the Chinese are interested in Serbian cereal grains, meat, seeds, frozen fruit, wine, etc.
In the past period, numerous local manufacturers expressed their interest in exporting meat and meat products, dairy products and baby food to the Chinese market. However, in order for those products to be exported, it is necessary to make compatible the protocols of the departments in charge, the export certificates and manufacturer certificates at the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the PR of China.
The documents signed so far are the Protocol of phytosanitary requirements for the export of wheat, frozen mutton and frozen beef to China, and the initiative has been started to make compatible the documents and conditions required for the export of dairy and meat products, baby food, pet food...
According tho the data by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS), in 2015, the dominant exported products were processed beech wood (27%), unprocessed wood (8.9%), machine parts (6.1%), circulation pumps for heating systems (6.07%)...
Conversely, the dominant products imported from China to Serbia were wireless phones (8.1%), portable digital machines (5%), gas filtration and purification devices (4.2%), raw aluminum (3%)...
