Privatization procedure for Zastava INPRO begins – Starting price RSD 90 million
Following many months of waiting and struggling with the competent bodies, the union and the management of Zastava INPRO have finally authorized the sale of the part of its company's property.
The company's business partner of many year, the French company Trigano, has long since been interested in buying the Kragujevac factory for the production of towed vehicles (car trailers).
The public call for the collection of bids by interested companies and investors was opened on July 7 and will last until mid-July, and the starting price of the property of Zastava INPRO is RSD 90 million.
The future owner of the Kragujevac factory will be obliged to keep its 160 workers, and will have to continue to rent, until the permanent business premises have been secured, the Sivi Dom facility for the needs of Zastava Oruzje, in which INPRO has been a “tenant” since the beginning of 2010, i.e. since the moment when Fiat took over the entire property of the former Zastava car factory.
If the privatization of Zastava INPRO, which is still operating within the Zastava Vehicles Group, is completed in accordance with the employees' expectations, starting with September 1, the production of towed vehicles in Kragujevac will be carried out in the company Trigano Trailers, which the French company has already founded in Serbia.
Other parts of Zastava INPRO (production of metal goods, textile products and a printing facility) should, as they hope in the factory's union, continue operating under the current names and in the capacity of inclusion workshops, since the majority of employees at INPRO are the disabled.
