Ivana Spanovic European long jump champion
(Ivana Spanovic) The Serbian athlete Ivana Spanovic won the gold medal in the long jump at the 2016 European Championships on Friday, July 8.
This is the first European gold medal in the history of Serbian athletics, and Ivana Spanovic earned the top spot with the best long jump in the second attempt, 6.94 m, after which she kept the leading position until the end of the competition.
The second place belonged to Jazmin Sawyers (6.86 m) of Great Britain, and the bronze medal was won by Malaika Mihambo (6.65 m) of Germany.
A day earlier (Thursday, July 7), the Serbian decathlete Mihail Dudas won the bronze medal.
