A cargo center to open soon at the Nis Airport – The city sets aside RSD 35 million for the reconstruction of the roof
Perisic didn't reveal the name of the company, but he emphasized that the Nis Airport met all the conditions for the opening of the center. The airport is in close proximity to the highway and the railroad, and the cargo center will increase its competitiveness, reports Niske Vesti.
- The airport will reach its full potential once a logistics center of this type has been built. This will be a hub for the rail, road and air transport, which is a rarity in Serbia – Perisic points out.
The Nis Airport, which will have 9 regular international airlines by the end of the year, is used by Bulgarians, Macedonians, but also people from Belgrade, Perisic adds.
- For the first time in history, passengers are coming from Belgrade in order to take flights from the Nis Airport, which is great. Our goal was precisely to establish such a system of the airport's sustainability – Perisic said.
Nis sets out RSD 35 million for the reconstruction of the Nis Constantine the Great Airport
The Nis City Council agreed at the latest session that the PE Nis Airport should invest the RSD 35 million, previously planned for the procurement of loading devices for large planes, into the reconstruction of the airport building, the education and issuing licenses to the employees.
As it was pointed out at the session, the RSD 35 million of the airport's own income will be invested primarily in the reconstruction of the building's roof and the part of the building where new counters for the reception and transport of passengers will be installed, reports Jugmedia.
The director of PE Nis Airport Vladica Djurdjanovic said that the education and licensing of the employees in the enterprise needed to continue since it was expected that 300,000 passengers would pass through the Nis Constantine the Great airport the next year.
The Nis Airport will try to acquire a cargo loader, i.e. a device for loading large planes, with the help of a private partner, it was said at the session of the Council.
