Best rooftop pools – Bangkok, Tel Aviv, Sao Paulo...

The magazine Dezeen has published a list of the best rooftop pools, among which are the “infinity” pool with a view to Tel Aviv, a pool with an interior window, as well as the one in the Brazilian jungle.

The Pool at Pyne – T.R.O.P.

The overhead concrete framework makes this rooftop pool in Thailand look as if carved out. Architects from the company T.R.O.P. have placed it on top of a 42-floor residential complex.

Jellyfish House – Wiel Arets Architects

This rooftop pool with a glazed underside provides a view to the Mediterranean Sea. The back part of the pool contains a large interior window, which enables the pool to be viewed from within the house.

Refúgio na Montaria - Carvalho Araújo

This concrete house in northern Portugal has an elevated roof meant for a narrow pool. The rural panorama of the Serra d’Arga Mountains can be seen from the pool.

Garden Villas – MIA Design Studio

The most unusual feature of the building within the Naman Retreat in Vietnam is a shallow pool which surrounds sunken lounges on the roof, accessed by the bridge which stretches to the first floor of the opposite block of houses.

Oak Pass House – Walker Workshop

This Californian house, which belongs to a violin player, contains an “infinity” pool, which stretches along the edges of the balcony below the branches of a protected oak tree.

Jungle House – Studio MK27

This rooftop pool at the top of a concrete residential building is located among the thick treetops of a seaside rainforest in Sao Paulo. The house also contains balconies which overlook the forest and provides respite from the sweltering heat.
