CCIS ready to support the meat industry – Focus on expanding production capacities and competitiveness

The president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS), Marko Cadez, visited, on Saturday, July 30, the company Mitros, on which occasion he said the CCIS was ready to support the meat industry in several ways.

As CCIS reports, Cadez pointed out in his conversation with the executive manager of Gierlinger Holding, Johann Gierlinger, and the management of the Sremska Mitrovica-based factory owned by the Austrian company that CCIS would, in cooperation with the competent state authorities, scientific institutions and companies, support the expansion of the raw material foundation and the production capacities and competitiveness of the Serbia meat, meat packing and meat processing industries.

The aim is to provide sufficient quantities of pork for the local market at stable prices and all the conditions necessary for the largest possible export.

CCIS will, as he added, initiate the reaching of necessary bilateral agreements, but also regulations and decisions, as well as bringing in line the veterinary certificates which will secure the required quality of pork meant for the export. The aim is also to connect the companies which operate in Serbia in all parts of the chain – from primary production to final processing, to enable the joint ventures and promote the exporting potential of the companies at the biggest international food fairs.

As well, CCIS will advocate for the model of subsidizing which will also enable the strengthening of the raw material foundation and processing capacities of the meat industry, but also the better positioning of the local products in the world market.
