Total income of YRS in 2007 - 15m EUR

- The profit of Yugoslav River Shipping (YRS) in 2006 amounted to about 600,000 EUR, while the transportation of goods grew to 1.45m tons - said general manager of that company Milan Mijailović.

He said that the quantity of goods transported in 2007 had been 150,000 tons larger than the quantity of goods transported in 2006, and total income of YRS amounted to about 15m EUR.

Privatization of YRS is underway and, according to the announcement of the Minister of Economy and Regional Development of Serbia, Mlađan Dinkić, tender commission should start negotiations with the second-ranked bidder, company "Palmali" from Malta, since the first-ranked consortium "Tamoza-Daxin" gave up procurement.

Mijailović has pointed out that YRS regularly fulfills its obligations towards buyers and suppliers and that it pays the salaries to the workers without delay.
