The courts have already started moving out of the Palace of Justice in Savska St., and all the courts and prosecutors' offices will have moved out of the building, mostly to Kataniceva St. and judicial buildings in New Belgrade, by late September.

Due to the forthcoming reconstruction and recovery of 26,340 square meters of the Palace of Justice, the premises will have been emptied by late August. Until the completion of the works in 2018, most of the judicial authorities will reside in the former building of the Military Technical Institute in 15 Kataniceva St. in the Belgrade municipality of Vracar.

So far, it is known that, in the next few days, the Second Basic Court and the Second Basic Public Prosecutor's Office will become the new residents of the judicial building in Kataniceva St. The second major location is the former building of Aeroinzenjering in 42a Nikole Tesle Blvd, where the Civil Procedure Department of the First Basic Court in Belgrade is already located. The building will temporarily house the Criminal Procedure Department of the Third Basic Court and the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office.

If there's no room to move all the judicial authorities to the aforementioned locations, some of the institutions might end up in the building of the Higher Magistrates' Court in 15 Timocka St. and the SIV 2 building near Mercator. As we've learned, the Criminal Procedure Department of the First Basic Court and the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office will move to the SIV 2 building.

Following the reconstruction and the recovery of the Palace of Justice, which will take two years, the new premises in Savska St. are planned to house the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office, the Higher Court, the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office and the Criminal Procedure Department of the First Basic Court, as well as the detention unit of the Administration for Enforcement of Penal Sanctions.
