The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection proposed to representatives of the World Bank in Serbia to use the remaining funds meant for the repair of the damage caused by the 2014 floods for preventive measures in case of new natural disasters.

It was also agreed at the meeting to prepare, together with the Ministry of Finance, models of additional protection from other natural disasters and plant and animal diseases which can cause significant economic damage.

The importance of introducing an electronic system in the building of the Directorate for Agrarian Payments, which would enable agricultural producers to communicate easily with the ministry, but also quicker processing of requests and payment of incentives, was especially emphasized at the meeting.

Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Branislav Nedimovic and World Bank Country Manager for Serbia Tony Verheijen expressed their satisfaction over the successful cooperation of the two institutions and agreed on starting new projects to the end of improving the support to agriculturists.
