Free Zone Apatin ready for port construction

(Apatin) An annex to the agreement on the foundation of Free Zone Apatin has been signed in Apatin within the necessary preparations and activities which will bring numerous advantages to the companies which already operate in the industrial zone, but also those that will make it more attractive to potential investments.

The agreement was signed by the president of the municipality of Apatin, Radivoj Sekulic, the president of the municipality of Odzaci, Dusan Marijan, and representatives of the Novi Sad-based company Standard Gas, Leko Siroka and Verica Cuk.

– We are doing everything in our power to prepare Free Zone Apatin for the construction of the port which lies ahead. The necessary documentation is being prepared, which is a prerequisite for drawing new investors and creating new jobs – said Sekulic.

According to him, the Free Zone provides a business oasis for investors and producers, which are exempt from paying VAT in importing processed materials and materials during the construction, but also from the income tax, which is either drastically reduced or non-existent.

The signing of the agreement was also attended by Maja Kuridza, the new director of Free Zone Apatin, who stated that all the activities to the end of drawing investors to the zone she was running were being carried out, reports the website of the Municipality of Apatin.

– Free Zone Apatin is the only zone in Serbia to include a port, which is important to potential investors due to numerous advantages of these two activities – Kuridza said and added that, with these features, it strove to be the leading zone in the region.
