Total of 80m EUR invested in Grand Casino Belgrade
- Grand Casino "Beograd" was opened on all 9,500 square meters in hotel "Jugoslavija" on Friday (February 9, 2008) - said Milan Simić, the Casino marketing manager.
Simić said that the projected investment had amounted to about 60m EUR, but it had been increased and 80m EUR had been invested in the casino to the date.
According to his words, there are about 380 workers in the casino, and the visitors can choose between 25 tables for “live games” and 220 “slot machines”.
The license for the first casino in Belgrade was sold to company Grand Casino, founded in Serbia, for 18m EUR.
Casino Austria International owns 51% of that company, Greek “Lutraki” owns 39% and 10% of the company is the property of the National Lottery of Serbia.
The first part of the casino was opened on June 30, 2007, on 700 square meters.
Simić said that the casino encompassed restaurants "Kameleon", "Ginger" and "Diva" with French, Italian and Asian cuisines, and the guests can enjoy their drinks in "Roulette bar" and "Piano bar".
According to some earlier estimates, the casino should have about 500,000 guests a year.
Casino Austria International has total of 76 casinos in 19 countries (including Serbia) and on 13 cruising ships, with the further development of the casino industry in Chile and South Africa.
In 2006, that casino had incomes in amount of 1.26 billion EUR, 19m guests and 10,545 workers.
The casino in Lutraki, which is situated in the complex of Club hotel casino Lutraki, occupies 5,000 square meters, it has 95 tables and 1,000 slot machines, and it has about 1m guests a year. There are 1,700 workers in the complex.
