Construction of main bus station to start in mid-2017 – Buses to set off from New Belgrade from late 2018

The construction of the New Belgrade bus station, to be located in block 42, will begin in May or June 2017 and will be completed by late 2018, announced Mayor Sinisa Mali on Thursday, September 1.

– We are working on relocating and building a new bus station in block 42 and I expect that we will start building it next spring, in May or June, in order to finish it by the end of 2018 – Mali said.

The mayor emphasized that the new bus station would be an important and grand structure that the people of Belgrade had been waiting for for nearly 40 years, along with the completion of Prokop.

The Belgrade Land Development Public Agency recently opened a public procurement procedure for the design and construction of an annex to the future New Belgrade bus station. The annex is to be used as Lasta's temporary station until the entire station has been built.
