Slovenia's Fori opening orthopedic products factory in Kragujevac

By the end of the week, a new orthopedic products and wheelchair factory, Fori Products Ser, will open in Kragujevac. The factory will operate under Fori Textile Ser.

Slovenia's Fori Group acquired the former Zastava Tapacirnica from Sloven Gradec-based MTU five and a half years ago and announced in late 2015 a significant expansion of operations in the heart of Sumadija and employment of a large number of workers in new production programs. The Group has already announced that two new companies will start operating in Kragujevac this year, namely, Fori Products Ser and Papilon.

The companies have been founded in the meantime and modern equipment for production of orthopedic devices and wheelchairs has recently been installed at the Fori Products Ser factory. In the next year, up to 250 workers should be hired at the factory, which will spread over 2,500 m2 in the first phase.

The Fori Group says that the complete production is meant for export and that the first shipment will be sent to Fori's partner Invoker, a multinational company headquartered in Sweden, by the end of the year.

It is expected that annual sales will amount to around EUR 14 million.
