China’s Betec Resources commences geothermal explorations in Vranjska Banja

The members of the City Council of Vranje gave their approval of the Memorandum of Understanding between the PE Uprava Banje and the Chinese company Betec Resources, which deals in geothermal energy source explorations, on the session held on Friday, September 23. According to Deputy Mayor Igor Andonov, the company is reputable and has been recommended by the Government of Serbia, as reported on the official website of the City of Vranje.

– The explorations will take about 40 days, and it is quite certain that Vranjska Banja will get its first power plant using renewable energy sources – Andonov said.

He added that the power plant would have the capacity of 20 megawatts, as stated on the website of the City of Vranje.

As reported earlier, the Chinese company already has experience in similar projects in China, America and Africa.
