An absolute record when it comes to salaries in Serbia, as well as the raising of pensions, can be expected in January, says Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

Vucic said on Monday, September 26, that it was quite certain that salaries in the public sector would be raised, even though it was obvious that there was no approval of “those who should be helping us”, regarding certain sectors, such as the army and the police.

– But we will raise salaries to policemen, soldiers, teachers, professors, medical workers, nurses, social workers, those who have the lowest salary in the judicial system. Along with an increase of the minimum wage by around 8%, this will be a significant raise – Vucic said.

He added that he expected pensions to be raised too, a part of which would be a short-term raise, an the rest through usual raises.

– Both workers and pensioners can hope for an improvement – Vucic concluded.

Let us remind that the average salary in Serbia was reduced to RSD 45.286 in August.
