Cuprija gets textile factory – Turkey’s Tibet Moda announces employment of 1,000 workers

The textile factory of the Turkish company Tibet Moda was opened at the ceremony in Cuprija in the presence of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. The ribbon was cut by the prime minister, owners of Tibet Moda, Burak Galip Akkurt and Melih Tengul, and the president of the municipality of Cuprija, Ninoslav Eric, following which they took a tour of the facility together with the ambassador of Turkey to Belgrade, Mehmet Kemal Bozay, and talked to the employees.

The plan is to employ 250 workers at the factory in the first year, to reach the number of 600 employees in the second year and to have a total of 1,000 workers in the third year.

The value of the project is around EUR 1 million, and the agreement on the lease of the hall and the administrative building of the former Mladost printing factory was signed in early August between the municipality and the Turkish company which operates as Tibet Moda in Serbia.

As they pointed out at the municipality, the Turkish investor hadn’t received any subsidies from the Government of Serbia or the municipality to open the facility.
