Trucks being prepared for UAE – FAP hires 85 workers

Fabrika Automobila Priboj (FAP), which has only 15 employees following the leaving of 636 workers, has hired 85 tradesmen, engineers and economists.

The director general of FAP, Ranko Vukovic, says for Blic that these are former workers of the factory, which chose this summer to leave the company through the social program.

– We've signed month-long contracts with them. They will be preparing the production of 30 trucks to be exported to the United Arab Emirates. Once they complete their part and the production starts, we will hire workers of other vocations depending on the need – Vukovic explains.

Several months ago, FAP sent combat vehicle chassis samples to Egypt, which are currently being tested in the Sahara. If they pass the test, Vukovic says, the signing of the agreement with the Egyptians on the shipment of 255 chassis is expected by the end of the year.

FAP is also negotiating with a company from Ghana on the sale of 50 trucks.
