"Delta" to open "Costa Coffee" in Split?

- Company "Delta holding" will soon open the first "Cost Coffee" in Split with a Croatian partner - Croatian magazine "Lider" announced.

That Croatian business weekly magazine writes that company "Delta" will, in that way, finally enter the Croatian market, thanks to Split-based "Vlamanda group", which got subfranchise from "Delta" for development of these coffee shops in Croatia.

The confirmation of the information came from the co-owner of "Vlamanda group", Damir Žarko, as well as from CEO of "Delta sport", Goran Karić. Karić says that company "Delta sport" signed the franchising contract last year on the opening of "Costa Coffee" chain in the countries of western Balkan, "so that we allotted subfranchise to Vlamanda group for development on Croatian market".

"Lider" writes that the owner of "Delta", Miroslav Mišković, tried on several occasions to enter Croatian market and that he expressed interest in "Podravka", "Dion", meat industry "Improm", construction of trade center in Zagreb, but none of these projects have been realized.

The first "Costa Coffee" in Croatia will be opened in Split and, according to the plan, 30-50 coffee shops will be opened in that country within next three years. Investment in one facility is estimated to 150,000 - 200,000 EUR.

The plan is that 100 coffee shops be opened on the territory of former Yugoslavia within next five years, and Delta plans to invest about 20m EUR in regional expanding of the "Costa Coffee" network. So far, seven coffee shops have been opened in Serbia, and opening of these coffee shops in Montenegro is in the pipeline.
