British EFT interested in construction of steam power plant near Lučani - potential investment in amount of 400m EUR
- British power company EFT is
interested in construction of steam power plant of 132 MW on the territory of
village of Tijanja near Lučani, where significant coal deposits were discovered
earlier - said the Mayor of Lučani, Slobodan Jolović.
The agreement in principal on commencement of thorough researches of
quantity and quality of coal layers on locations of Rudnica and Jezero, beneath
Jelica mountain, in the vicinity of Guča and Lučani, was reached with the
representatives of company EFT, who visited Lučani last week.
The representative of company EFT, Zlatan Matko, said that, according to the information they got, the lignite discovered in that area could be exploited and used in steam power plant over the next 35-40 years.
Construction of steam power plant, which would be called "Dragačevo", would last for about 7 years and it would cost somewhat more than 400m EUR.
According to the plan, future steam power plant, which should have about 800 workers, would be equipped with the up-to-date devices for prevention of emmission of harmful gases.
