Fondi Export initiating wooden crate production in Opovo – Export to Greece, Italy and France contracted
Comments
For the first time following several decades, the municipality of Opovo, one of the least developed municipalities in Vojvodina, will get an industrial facility.
Belgrade's Fondi Export is building a 1,000 m2 hall in Sakule, in which 70 workers will be producing 150 truckfuls of fruit and vegetable crates a year, whose export to the markets of Greece, Italy and France has already been secured.
The investor has even decided to move its production and the company's headquarters from Belgrade to this municipality.
Aleksandar Adzemovic, owner of Fondi Export, says that the local self-government of Opovo was the easiest to make an agreement with, as well as that the municipality has a source of raw material.
– We have quickly agreed on the requirements, such as electricity, water, roads... The raw material we use is poplar. Such raw materials are usually procured from swampy terrains, which are present in Vojvodina – explains Aleksandar Adzemovic, owner of Fondi Export.
The local authorities are aware that one of the poorest municipalities in Vojvodina can only draw investments if it is efficient.
– The local self-government has reached an agreement with the investor very quickly. Our main task was to turn his interest into a construction project of a serious industrial facility, where 70 workers will be employed, which is very important for us. I expect that this investment will attract some other investors as well. Some have already contacted us, primarily friends of Aleksandar Adzemovic – says Zoran Tasic, president of the municipality of Opovo.
