Founding of army equipment company Yumco-Namenska – Restructuring of Vranje factory to take place

The Ministry of Defense has big plans for Yumco, said Minister of Defense Zoran Djordjevic.

– We are looking at restructuring and founding a new company called Yumco-Namenska in the coming period. The Ministry of Defense will prepare a restructuring plan and we will have a new company which will operate successfully and stimulate the economy of Vranje – Djordjevic announced.

He also pointed out that it remained to be seen in what way Yumco would be manufacturing uniforms not just for the Ministry of Defense, but for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as how it would improve its export.

From 2010 till 2016, the Ministry of Defense signed several agreements with Yumco in the amount of over RSD 2.1 billion on the procurement of around 50,200 sets of M-10 uniforms and more than 32,000 individual pieces of equipment from the set – camouflage fatigues, summer camouflage trousers and others.

The procurement of M-10 sets, summer camouflage trousers M-12 and a test run of modular army backpacks and parts of summer field uniforms are planned for the next year.

As well, Yumco manufactures and delivers special clothing for foreign police services and armies.

The best export results have been made in the markets in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, to which Yumco has shipped various types of army uniforms in the past period, reports the website of the Government of Serbia.
