Marijana Vasilescu new president of Sberbank Serbia Executive Board

(Marijana Vasilescu) Marijana Vasilescu took over the position of the president of the Executive Board of Sberbank Serbia on December 1, the bank reported.

Prior to her new appointment, she was the member of the Executive Board of the bank in charge of retail and micro clients, the network, partnerships and digital channels, as well as marketing and communications, the position she was appointed to in 2013.

– Being appointed president of the Executive Board of Sberbank Serbia is a great honor, but also means great responsibility. For me, this is a continuation of a successful Sberbank journey, during which numerous successes have been achieved. I am happy in advance about the ambitious goals we've set for ourselves regarding the further digitization of the bank, increasing our client base and improving our efficiency – Vasilescu stated on the occasion of assuming the function.

Vasilescu has rich experience in the international banking sector, acquired at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Romania, where she was the director of the retail sector and affluent banking, as well as at Moscow's RBS (previously ABM AMRO Bank), where she was the director of the retail sector.

She also worked at Home Credit Bank in Kazakhstan as a member of the Executive Board.

Prior to her career in the banking sector, she held leading positions in various international FMCG companies in CEE.
