The largest Serbian construction company, Energoprojekt, which has been successfully operating in Kazakhstan for 20 years, organized the celebration of 25 years of independence of Kazakhstan and 20 years of the country's diplomatic relations with Serbia on Thursday, December 8, in Belgrade.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Serbia, Nurbakh Rustemov, said on that occasion that Energoprojekt had contributed to the fact that Serbian companies were greatly respected in Kazakhstan with its successful operations.

Energoprojekt is one of the founders of the Serbian-Kazakh Business Council, and its CEO, Vladimir Milovanovic, is the Council's co-president.

The ambassador of Kazakhstan said to the press at the Energoprojekt office building, following the round table on the friendly relations of the two countries, that Serbia and Kazakhstan had very close relations and that visits by state officials were being carried out on the highest level.

He said that a direct air route between Belgrade and Astana should be established before the next summer, which would be a great incentive for enhancing the cooperation. Rustemov reminded that there was a visa-free regime between the two countries.

Vladimir Milovanovic said that Energoprojekt had set new standards of quality in construction in Astana and that they had had the honor to open a new bank building in the capital of Kazakhstan in 2016.

– This is our first project in Astana and I'm proud to say that the building was opened by our investor in the presence of the Kazakh prime minister, and that it was visited by the president of Kazakhstan and the prime minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, during his visit to Astana. Our project has set new standards of quality in construction in Astana, which is something Energoprojekt is known for in all four continents it operates in – Milovanovic said.

He said that the company was currently realizing a part of activities on the construction of the Ritz Carlton hotel and that negotiations about contracting big and important projects in Kazakhstan were in progress.

Kazakhstan is a very friendly country toward Serbia and a huge market as well, Milanovic emphasized and added that it was a large and rich country.

Energoprojekt signed a new contract worth USD 26 million in Kazakhstan on August 31, 2016, only a few months after the successful realization and the opening ceremony of the modern building of Forte Bank in the center of Astana. The contract is another chance for the company to acquire an important reference, as the project entails planning and performing finishing works and interior equipping of luxury apartments and the Spa Center within the prestigious Ritz Carlton hotel chain.

For 20 years, Energoprojekt has been realizing projects in Kazakhstan, where another 30 Serbian companies also operate. The country is in the 35th spot on the World Bank's Doing Business list, it was said at the event.
