If the Government of Slovenia insures the land in Maribor, one of the leading world manufacturers of car components, the Canadian-Austrian concern Magna, will open a factory in Slovenia, which will employ 3,000 workers.

The government, however, first needs to provide 100 hectares of land equipped with utilities to Magna Steyr.

The construction of the factory would begin in August 2017, and the production a year later. The investments has been estimated at a total of EUR 450 million.

Magna is one of the largest car component producers in the world. Its head offices are in Canada, and it has subsidiaries in numerous countries. In Graz, Magna Steyr develops, produces and assembles cars for big companies, and the company has recently reported that it will be producing Jaguar's first electric vehicle.

The multinational company Magna includes Magna Seating, which operates in Odzaci.
