Abolition of visas with China from January 15, 2017

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic stated on Friday, December 30, 2016, that the Agreement on the Mutual Abolition of Visas with China would probably come into effect on January 15, 2017.

Dacic said at the annual press conference that all internal procedures in Serbia and China related to the confirmation of the agreement had been completed and that it would come into effect thirty days after the two states had exchanged notifications thereof.

He said that Serbia was one of 11 countries in the world China had such an agreement with and added that people of Serbia didn’t need visas to travel to 64 countries and that the government was continuing the policy of the abolition of visas with as many countries as possible.

Looking back at 2016, the minister said that Serbia had made great progress in all key strategic directions. Dacic estimated that progress had been made in the European agenda and said that the strategic directions were the road to the EU, improving and strengthening relations with traditional friends, as well as enhancing the peace and stability in the region.
