Companies from Central Banat District export goods worth EUR 271 million in 11 months of 2016 – Largest surplus with Italy, deficit with Romania

From January till November 2016, the Central Banat District had EUR 499,607,074 worth of foreign trade, an increase of 4.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2015. This amounts to 1.78% of the total foreign trade of the Republic of Serbia and 6.96% of the foreign trade of Vojvodina.

– Of the five municipalities of the Central Banat District, Zrenjanin had the largest foreign trade, in the amount of EUR 428.1 million, or 85.6%. The district exported products worth EUR 273,240,501 to foreign markets, whereas the import in the eleven months of 2016 amounted to EUR 226,366,573 – says the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Zrenjanin.

Regarding the export, the most frequent goods include conductor sets for motor vehicle ignition, synthetic fiber textile products and edible oil industry products, whereas other electrical conductors, plastic mass insulation components and conductor sets for ignition continue to dominate the import.

Looking by countries, the largest export of goods was made with Germany (EUR 87.4 million), Italy (EUR 78.6 million) and Macedonia (EUR 15.2 million), whereas the largest import was from Germany (EUR 79.4 million), Italy (EUR 52.1 million) and Romania (EUR 30.2 million).

The largest surplus in the January-November 2016 period was made with Italy (EUR 26.5 million), whereas the largest deficit was incurred with Romania (EUR 20.3 million).

DAD Draexelmaier had a crucial influence on this kind of foreign trade result. In the observed period, it imported the necessary amounts of processed materials from Romania, says the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Zrenjanin, as reported by the I Love Zrenjanin portal.
