Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic talked last week at the Davos World Economic Forum with Chinese airlines interested in establishing flights on the Beijing-Belgrade route, Wisebroker reports.

– We are not far from establishing a direct flight to Beijing – Vucic said on Monday, January 23, 2017, but didn't specify which companies had been negotiated with.

Representatives of the HNA Aviation conglomerate, which manages Chinese airlines, among which are Hainan Airlines and Beijing Capital Airline, attended the forum. Vucic noted that establishing direct flights between the two countries was of the highest importance, as Serbia and China had mutually abolished visas starting from January 1, 2017.

Serbia is the only European country, in addition to San Marino, enabling visa-free entry to residents of China.
