EC antidumping measures not affecting steel from Serbia

The antidumping measures implemented by the European Commission on certain steel products pertain to import from China and Taiwan exclusively, it was said for Tanjug in Brussels.

Regarding the question whether Zelezara Smederevo, owned by China's Hesteel, would be affected by the measures, the EC said that the measures pertained exclusively to import from the country of origin.

– These antidumping measures pertain exclusively to import from China and Taiwan – the EC confirmed to Tanjug.

The European Commission has implemented antidumping duty rates on the import of stainless steel tube and pipe butt-welding fittings originating in China and Taiwan.

The Commission Implementing Regulation 2017/141 of January 26, 2017, says that the new duty rates shall apply exclusively to the import of “of the product concerned originating in the countries concerned and produced by the named legal entities”.

– Imports of product concerned produced by any other company not specifically mentioned in the operative part of this Regulation, including entities related to those specifically mentioned, should be subject to the duty rate applicable to ‘all other companies’. They should not be subject to any of the individual anti-dumping duty rates – say the official EC document regulating the new duty rates on the import of certain steel products from China and Taiwan.
