Generali selling it operations in Holland
Comments
Generali has hired BNP Paribas as a financial adviser in selling its Dutch operations.
The reason for the sale is clear – to reduce expenditures in weaker markets and to increase profitability, Reuters writes.
Generali Nederland has been active in the Dutch market for more than 140 years.
If the sale proves to be successful, this will be the first in the line of planned disinvestments announced by Generali in November 2016. This way, the company wishes to accrue a billion euros, and the plan is to leave thirteen to fifteen states.
Generali's market worth amounts to EUR 21.4 billion, but its stock has dropped by almost 27% in the past two years.
