Belgrade's Kombank Arena to get new name – Tender for sponsor in April 2017

It's been five years already since the biggest local sports hall was named Kombank Arena. As the expiration of the current contract is growing closer, speculations about who the new sponsor of Kombank Arena might be, as well as how much should be set aside in order for the sports hall to get a new, sponsored name, have started.

The purple banner will soon be removed from the hall, and several companies are interested in sponsoring the biggest multifunctional hall in the Balkans. Still, the staff of Arena Beograd didn't wish to disclose their business secrets, but they've confirmed that there are interested parties.

– Several companies are interested, but these are all merely preliminary negotiations for now – Danijela Rakic of Arena said.

According to her, the tender for the name sponsor will open in late April, and the value of the contract is still being considered, as there are plenty of factors influencing it.

Although they didn't want to disclose the value of the previous contract with Komercijalna Banka, there's been unofficial information that it amounted to slightly under EUR 1,200,000, and its certain that the next one will be considerably more expensive.

– The totality of Arena's functioning, competitions, concerts, family events, congress gatherings, as well as plans for the next years, should increase the amount of funds which the potential name sponsor is to invest in the next period – Rakic said.

Numerous prestigious contests have been announced for the upcoming period, of which the biggest one is certainly the 2018 EuroLeague final-four.

O2 London for GBP 125 million

For example, one of the most famous multifunctional halls of this type, The O2 in London, is also supposed to sign a new contract soon in order to keep the name. To that end, this mobile operator will have to set aside as much as GBP 125 million for a period of ten years.
