EUR 30 million for irrigation – 14 projects to be financed by UAE loan in 2017

The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that the 14 irrigation projects will be financed with nearly EUR 30 million from the loan by the United Arab Emirates in Serbia this year in the first phase.

The intention is to reduce the impact of the climate factors, especially the drought.

Furthermore, the goal is to increase the areas covered by irrigation systems, currently amounting to less than 2% of arable land.
