NIS – needed investments higher than planned 500 mil EUR
The first analysis of NIS activities show that necessary investments in this petrol company have to higher than the planned 500 mil EUR.
Director for public relations of NIS, Tomislav Micovic, stated at Agricultural fair in Novi Sad, that the experts from the Russian “Gazpromnet” have been analyzing the activities of the Serbian petrol company for already 2 months, and that preliminary data show that the investments need to be higher.
According to his words, the height of investments will depend on the company’s interest and their plans for NIS.
Micovic reminded that it was in the process preparation phase for contract realization about the sale of NIS – to this Russian company, and that supervision of NIS is exclusively limited to collection and exchange of information and documents leading towards creation of conditions for agreement realization.
The agreement about energy cooperation between Serbia and Russia, which determines that Gazprom buys 51% of Petrol industry (NIS), for 400 mil EUR, was signed on January, 25th, Moscow, and recently it was confirmed by the Serbian Government, and soon after it was sent for parliament ratification.
The agreement suggests that Gazprom should invest in NIS at least 500 mil EUR until 2012, and that the sale would be finalized by the end of this year.
Recently, the advisor of Executive board president, of “Gazpromnefta”, Dmitri Malisev, stated it was clear that for reconstruction of Serbian refineries would be necessary a lot more than 500 mil EUR, and that the final amount would be know after they adjust their program with the Government of Serbia.
