IKONEN: Finish investments can be very useful for Serbia

(Pertti Ikonen) Ambassador of Finland inBelgrade Pertti Ikonen said Finnish investments can be very useful for Serbiabecause, in addition to financial resources, they deliver specific businessculture - respect for labor and human rights, business ethics, a high level ofsocial responsibility, productivity and innovation.

- Finnish companies largely take care ofbusiness ethics, so in order to attract them in greater numbers in Serbia, workmust be done on improving transparency, reducing corruption, better functioningof tendering system, independence of judiciary - he said in an interview forBiznis i finansije magazine.

Ikonen said that preconditions for attractingquality investments is greater transparency, corruption decrease and independenceof judiciary.

He said that in the last two decades on the listof Transparency International Finland still among the three least corruptedcountries in the world and added that even today it does not deviate from thesystem which was taken from the Swedes in the 17th century, which promotes respect for law andappointment only professional people at official positions.
