KSC Tectona opens wood packaging production facility in Bac – Jobs for 50 workers

The multipurpose production hall of KSC Tectona, meant for the production of wood packaging, opened in Bac on March 28. This is the first major investment in the municipality of Bac in the past 20 years, and around workers will be employed.

After the test run, which is in progress, the production of wood packaging at full capacity for the foreign market will start next month, and the production line for wood veneer should arrive in early July.

– Our company's end goal is to have a mini factory for the production of plywood and we plan to realize this by 2019. In addition to the hall, which we've leased from the local self-government, we've also bought 6,000 square meters of land in order to start realizing the project as soon as possible – says Nikola Cavka, director of KSC Tectona.

Mayor of Bac Dragan Stasevic says that not one facility has been opened in Bas in the past 20 years and adds that “this is why this day is very important for our small municipality. The number of people the company is to employ is as significant as if, say, a thousand and more people were employed in Novi Sad”.

Around fifty workers have been employed at the multipurpose production facility of KSC Tectona. An additional thirty will be employed in the season which will last for up to eight months.
