The Ministry of Economy opened public invitations to submit letters of interest for taking part in the privatization of three petrochemical factories – Metanolsko-Sircetni Kompleks Kikinda and the Pancevo-based Azotara and Petrohemija.

The public invitation is open till May 3, 2017, and the letter should also contain an investment and production plan and a privatization model.

As RTS reminds, Petrohemija has facilities in Pancevo, Zrenjanin and Elemir and 1,400 employees. It is one of the ten biggest exporters from Serbia. In late 2016, the Government initiated the process of resolving the company's old debts.

– Petrohemija's operations are successful. Last year, it made EUR 61 million in profit. This year will be similar, and the amount might be even higher, as the synthetic rubber factory in Elemir has become profitable – says Zoran Popovic of the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy for RTS.

MSK Kikinda is in a good technical condition and has 530 employees. The Government re-initiated the production after a four-year pause 16 months ago, as it is important for potential partners for the factory to work.

Azotara, which produces non-organic fertilizers and nitrogen compounds, has 800 employees.
