New tender for JRB in June - amount of guarantee to be increased to 1m EUR

- New tender for Yugoslav River Shipping (JRB) will be announced at the beginning of June - said assistant to the Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojša Ćirić.

Privatization Agency has cancelled the tender for sale JRB in March 2008, after two first-ranked bidders on the tender gave up the procurement.

The first to give up procurement was the first-ranked consortium made of companies "Tamoza Trading" and "Daxin Petroleum", and it was followed by the consortium of "Palmali shipping" and "Palmali holding", which gave the second best offer. The Agency estimated that the negotiations with "Ist point", the third-ranked bidder on the tender, should not be organized.

According to the announcement, the amount of the guarantee on the next tender for purchase of JRB will be increased to 1m EUR in order to prevent incorrect moves of potential buyers.

According to the words of Ćirić, announcement of tender for sale of property of ICG on Kopaonik, that is, the sale of hotels “Grand” and “Konaci”, is expected in June.

He added that somewhat different solution was being sought for several large companies that had been on tender for two or three times and had not been sold, which is the case with "RTB Bor" and "14. oktobar".

- That new solution will be similar to the model of cooperation between "Zastava" and "Fiat", and we will see if it will be made possible through joint investment or through founding of new company or investing in the existing one. Our intention is to find quality strategic partners for these companies - Ćirić explained.

The assistant to the minister estimated that, disregarding the election process in Sebia, there had been no break in the privatization of public capital. About 60 to 80 companies were offered for sale on the auction on monthly basis, and the percentage of realized privatizations is satisfying.

According to his words, there were several delays regarding submission of bids on some tenders, such as the tender for sale of "Lasta", because the inestors wanted to wait for the results of the elections, but, as he pointed out, that is understandable because they want political security.
